FAQs & other suggestions

  • What is required from me to use Audiophile. One?
    • You need to register. If you do not register, you can still browse all the listings. However, you can not use the Contact the seller, Make Offers or Buy It Now.
    • You need you to complete your Profile. We need to know how to contact you, and we need to know your time zone so dates will display correctly.
    • A credit card is required for these reasons:
      • In order to list an item, we have to know how to charge you. Since we charge a one-time fee for listings up-front, having a method of payment is required. This applies to all members, whether you intend to sell or not.
      • We watch for your credit card expiration date so we can notify you when it has expired. If the primary card on file has expired, you will need to update the expiration date before you can list, contact members or interact with Audiophile.One.
      • We do not store your credit card information. We store what is allowed by the Payment Card Industry, which is just enough to let you know what card it is. We have no way of obtaining the entire card number, so please do not ask.
      • We have an extensive background in web security as well as the payment card industry. We do not take security lightly.
      • There are no exceptions. We hope you understand.
  • How does Registration work?
    • When you register, you are emailed a confirmation that directs you to verify your email address and password with us. You have 24 hours to complete the verification process. After 24 hours, the account is marked “expired”, and you can not reuse that username or email address for 1 week.
    • After 1 week the unverified account is deleted, and you can re-register.
  • Logging in
    • You have the option to Login with either your Username or your Email Address.
      • A Username is more secure. Chances are someone somewhere knows your Email address. Unless you created a predictable Username, such as "bjohnson" for "Bob Johnson", it will be much more difficult for malicious scum to guess your Username.
      • Your Username must be at least 8 characters long and no longer than 25 characters long. Only alphanumeric characters are permitted.
    • We require both a Username and Email address
      • The Email address is for communication between you, Audiophile. One, the Seller and the Buyer.
    • Password Reset Request
      • When you request a Password Reset, your current password is changed. We have no way of knowing what your password was changed to, since passwords are randomly generated. This is a security precaution; we do not know if you forgot your password or if your password has been compromised. If you are not quite sure you want to Reset your Password, do not choose this option.
      • When you request a Password Reset, your existing password is changed to a random password. This is done because you have forgotten your password, and we don’t want any malicious attempts to login to your account. Once the password reset request has been submitted, you have 12 hours to complete the password reset. If you do not complete resetting your password in 12 hours, the request is automatically expired, and you must request a new password reset.
  • What’s the stuff under My Account?
    • My Listings are your gear, which has not yet been sold
    • My Transactions are your purchases and sales
    • My Offers are messages sent and received on both the seller and the buyer’s listings
    • My Messages are general questions, both sent and received, about a listing
    • My Activity is a list of actions you have made, such as listed gear, sold gear, rejected offers, canceled offers, counter-offers and expired listings
    • Payment Account is your credit card information which we use to charge you when you place a listing
  • Why can’t I add more than six images?
    • Six images is sufficient to show all aspects of the item you listed: the front, the left & right sides, the back, the top & the bottom. Our commitment to keep your listing available for one year (or until it sells) means we have to manage costs. Your benefit is unlimited exposure, including the image URL (link), which can easily be emailed to other potential or interested buyers.
  • Making an Offer & Buy It Now
    • Buyer
      • You can choose But It Now or Make Offer on any active listing. As long as the seller has not accepted your offer, you can Cancel Your Offer at any time.
      • If the seller makes a Counter Offer, you can Accept the Counter Offer or Reject the Counter Offer.
    • Seller
      • We have made every feature available so you can easily sell at the price you choose.
      • You can edit your listing at any time (as long as there are no offers pending).
      • You can choose to Accept an Offer, Reject an Offer or Counter Offer at any time.
      • You can Cancel your Counter Offer (as long as the buyer has not Accepted your Counter Offer).
    • Buyer & Seller
      • All communication is done through Audiophile.One. This ensures Buyer and Seller have access to who said what when. There will be no question about the agreed selling price or the agreed purchase price, shipping and any other charges.
      • All transactions are displayed on your My Activity page. Contact messages are displayed on your My Messages page.
      • We expect every member to be ethical and responsible.
      • An agreement to buy as well as sell is a binding agreement that both parties will adhere to.
      • Any member that does not fulfill their side of an agreement will have their account suspended. If a resolution can not be reached, the sale will be voided.
      • Any member that displays unacceptable behavior, fails to pay the seller, fails to ship to the buyer will have their account deactivated permanently.
      • We will not tolerate Buyers OR Sellers that act in an inappropriate manner.
      • Every Member is bound by our Terms and Conditions & Privacy Policy.
  • How does a Sale work?
    • We've simplified the process of tracking payment, shipping and all communication in one page. When an item is sold, it will show in My Transactions.
    • A link to Payment Details is shown for each sale and purchase. Follow the link to the Payment Details page, where you can identify the other party in the transaction.
    • Payment Details is where the buyer and seller will determine how the item is paid, if it is paid, when and how it will be shipped and where it ships to. There is also a place to mark each step of the process from 'Paid' to 'Shipped' as well as 'Received'. The seller can also enter Tracking Numbers (if applicable).
    • Sellers are required to:
      • Mark it Paid
      • Mark it Shipped
    • Buyers are required to:
      • Mark it Received
    • Audiophile. One will never charge a sale against your credit card. It is up to the buyer and seller to arrange payment.
  • How does Asking Price and Minimum Price work?
    • The seller sets an asking price and, optionally, a minimum price. Please note the minimum price is not required. When a buyer offers a price lower the minimum price, we don’t waste time sending an email telling them their offer is lower than the acceptable minumum price. We let them know at the time they make the offer with a prompt. This reduces endless emails letting the buyer know what they will find out instantly on Audiophile. One: their offer was below the minimum. This also helps the seller increase the chances the minimum price will be met, and they will make a sale sooner than later.
    • Knowing this, make sure you, as the seller, set a minimum price that’s acceptable to you.
  • Why are there two places for Messages?
    • My Messages are sent and received questions about an item for sale. They are not specific to any item listed and do not necessarily need to be answered (or not in a timely manner)
    • Payment Details messages pertain only to that transaction, and will not show in your My Messages (and vice versa). Payment Detail messages concern the payment, shipping and tracking. They require a response in a timely manner (hopefully the same day or sooner), and contain sensitive information regarding the transaction between the buyer and the seller. For this reason, they are kept separate.
  • Where do I leave Feedback?
    • Feedback links are shown for both the buyer and seller under My Transactions. These links will be available for both parties (buyer and seller) to leave Feedback 90 days from the sale date. Once Feedback has been left, the link will no longer be available, and can not be changed or edited.
    • The ability to leave Feedback is automatically disabled 90 days after the sale date.
  • What if I forgot my Login name, Password or didn’t receive a Registration Confirmation Email?
    • If you forgot your Username, Email Address or didn’t receive a Registration Confirmation Email, you can request an email with the appropriate information using the Forgot page. These features are available when you are not logged in.
    • Please note: A “Forgot your Password” request expires in 12 hours. Once the link has expired, and you have not created a new password, you will have to submit another “Forgot your Password” request.
